Adriana M. Manago, Assistant Professor, Western Washington UniversityI am a cultural developmental psychologist interested in culture change and social development during adolescence and the transition to adulthood. My research focuses on how the shift away from rural agrarian forms of living and use of communication technologies influence gender role development, sexual development, and identity development. I work in an indigenous Maya community in Mexico called Zinacant√°n, among European American and Latino youth in the United States, and have just begun a collaborative project in Israel working with Arab, Bedouin, and Ethiopian adolescents and families.
